Faith is like alcohol.. Here is why I think so..

Alcohol in small quantities relaxes our brain activities. it gives a
us a feeling of relaxation, removes inhibitions and anxieties for a
limited period of time.. of course.

Faith also in small quantities, gives us the same relaxation and
worry-free state of mind for a limited period of time.
|

As per Gov. UK guidelines drinking less than 14 unit spread across 3
separate days in a week is probably harmless. 14 units is 6 pints of average
strength beer. So one or two beers a week is probably harmless.

I think the same applies to Faith well. Going to church once or twice
in a week or finding some time every day to pray to GOD is probably harmless.
But there’s no reference I can provide you here.

If you exceed the normal limit, you will be called an alcoholic

Alcoholics loses the sense of reality and enjoy the state they are in
and in long term find it difficult to come out..

Alcoholics believes that its good to be alcoholic and its gives them
immense pleasure. They advocate the same to others. They find people with
similar interests. They create Facebook groups. They hang out in bars, public places and enjoys their
state of being under the influence of alcohol

A chosen man/woman believes that its good to be a dedicated to god and
that’s the purpose of their life and its gives them immense pleasure.
They advocate the same to others. They find people with similar interests. They hang out in conventions. public places and enjoys their state of being dedicated to god. |

They believe they are doing the right thing and others are all wasting
their life by not enjoying it to the fullest

They queue up in front of beverages outlets to get that one last pint
to enter their state of godliness. In rain, in heat and any length of time no
matter what. They always keep up a disciplined queue and very cooperative
while doing that. The organization who controls the outlets amasses huge pile
of money. They generate jobs.Gov. gets licencing fee and huge taxes. And the individual collapses when his limit is reached :D

They collect themselves in masses in convention centers, churches to get the same kind of induction to get to their state of
godliness where they are relaxed and worry free.. But in contrast with the
alcoholics, they shout, jump, clap their hands and show a disillusioned behavior. Some people get so excited that they faint and fall down.. Some get
a false feeling that their diseases are cured. Their pain is gone. The
conductor become famous and earn more money and more followers.

But in extreme cases alcoholics die due to liver sclerosis or deep
depression or some other disease and the story ends there.

But the faith followers don’t die because it does not affect their
body but only brain… They go to next extremes.

|
They try to bring more people to join them and organise conversion
activities. Approach the weak and poor and inject doses of faith which will
be well received due to their vulnerability
|

|
Faith leaders find it a good opportunity to get rich fast and expand
their empires
|
|
|
People go mad and so mad that they make worshiping their way to of
life, their primary purpose of life. They find non-worshipers sons of Devil.
|
|
|
They start to think of abolishing sons of Devils and instill Gods empire back of earth.
|
|
|
They kill people in the name of God who criticizes or opposes their
ideas
|
|
|
Some kill themselves. Some kill thousands of people at one go.
|
|
|
Gov. cannot do anything because unlike alcoholism, it does not issue
licence to faith organizations. It does not control their operations.
|
|
|
|
So in a very broader sense I find faith is a
bigger, deeper highly contagious plague affecting human beings than alcoholism
which affect only a small percentage of individuals out of 6 billion+
population of the world.
When I say that I don’t mean that one should not
have faith in GOD. Just like I mentioned above in small quantities both alcohol
and faith following are harmless.
